Day 3 - Sunday, June 30

Update from Andrew Menke:

Happy Birthday Andrew Maxwell! Compared to our past few days, Sunday was a relatively laid back day. We were able to sleep in for an extra hour before meeting together for breakfast, and then heading off to church at Iglesia Biblica Buen Pastor. The members of the congregation were very welcoming and affectionate! At one point, in the middle of worshipping, everyone spontaneously left their seats to greet one another. David Meyer then preached a sermon on David and Jonathan and talked about loving one another as ourselves. (Thankfully he translated throughout!) At the end of his sermon he had Andrew Maxwell come up to the front and everyone sang to him. Us teens were excited to reunite with our new friends and to continue getting to know them.

After church we left for the Meyer's home via taxi. Some team members are taking advantage of this by practicing their Spanish with the drivers. Sometimes we  have successful conversations- other times not. We had lunch at the Meyer's and then ended up staying there until almost 9 in the evening. We were going to go hiking, but rain ended up changing our plans. However we ended up having many good conversations and were also able to plan for the english clubs we would be having the next day.
